An in-app
point
You earn it by using the app and you spend it inside the app. That is the entire definition — there is nothing behind it, and nothing more to it.
It is our way of thanking you for being here, and of giving you a reason to come back tomorrow. Every message you send and every sentence you correct is what keeps this place alive. The token is what that adds up to.

Up to 100 messages a day pay, and up to 30 from any single partner. Corrections have no cap — teaching is weighted higher than talking, on purpose.
Streak bonus
A bonus lands the day your streak reaches 7, 30, 100, 180, 365, 730 and 1,095 days.
The daily pool
On top of what you score directly, a fixed pool is shared out at the end of every day among everyone who was active, in proportion to how active they were. Your share depends on everyone else’s day as well as your own — and nobody can take more than a twentieth of it.
These are the current values. The economy is young, and the numbers can change as we learn how it behaves with real activity.
03 — Spend

That is the complete list, and it is complete on purpose.
Streak freeze
200Rescues a day you missed, so one bad day doesn’t undo months of practice. You can bank two at a time — enough to cover real life, not enough to make the streak meaningless.
Fill in a missed day
600Fills one empty square on your activity map, within the last fourteen days. Two a month, and never today — today is earned. Dearer than a freeze on purpose: a freeze is bought before the day, this one after it.

Slate through to Midnight, and Beginner through to Legend. One more frame, Aurora, cannot be saved up for: it costs 50,000 and needs a 365-day streak with 5,000 corrections written.
They change how your profile looks and nothing else.
What this is not

- Not on a chain
- Not listed anywhere
And it cannot unlock Fluent or Polyglot. That one is deliberate: if tokens could buy a paid feature, farming tokens would become a substitute for subscribing — and the subscription is what pays for the app.

back?
Your balance carries over. Nothing on LangX was ever bought or sold — what looked like a purchase log was really the daily payout being calculated — so every token in your balance was earned, and there is no reason not to honour it.
Balances are divided by 100 on the way in, and we would rather say that plainly than let you find it out afterwards. Old balances run as high as 2.28 million, while a very active day now is about 700 tokens. Credited one-for-one, the largest balance would sit roughly nine years ahead of anyone new and the all-time board would never move again. Divided, it starts about a month ahead — a real head start, and one someone else can still close.
You also get a welcome-back bonus, and the streak you had is frozen rather than lost: you can spend tokens to bring it back.
